Samuel White is an assistant professor with the University of Missouri-Columbia Labor Education Program. He has been with MU since January 1998, after serving on the faculty at Indiana University in Bloomington. He received a BA and MA in American History from Purdue University. He completed his PhD from the State University of New York 1998.

At MU, White is responsible for the development, teaching and coordination of non-credit and credit labor education programs. His research includes a book titled Fragile Alliances: Labor and Politics in Evansville, Indiana, 1919-1955 (Praeger, 2005) and various articles on labor organization in the United States.

White's teaching interests include labor history, work organization and workplace respresentation. He is also responsible for teaching in the joint apprentice building trades labor studies programs throughout the state of Missouri.
